How to stop breastfeeding with a 1 yo old boobaholic

I’m looking for advice on how to go about weaning a 13 month old who is a breastfeeding addict. He is by now fully night weaned and on daycare days he only breastfeeds in the morning and twice in the evening (long feed right after nursery and a short feed before the bedtime routine). The problem is the days when he’s not at nursery: he asks for the breast ALL THE TIME, and screams murder when he doesn’t get it. I wasn’t really necessarily looking to stop immediately but I am seriously dreading the holiday period where he’ll spend more time with us (there’s a long daycare break). I know people recommend weaning one feed at a time but where do I even start if he demands it every hour 😭 I know cold turkey is my other option, but I have a lot of milk still and I’m scared of engorgement/mastitis. Any advice or success stories would be great ❤️
