How a small insult in college turned into my most underrated success story.

History

A small incident that changed everything for me. Back in my first semester of college, around December, I had just made a new group of friends. One Saturday morning, we were all sitting together for breakfast. They were pulling my leg like usual, and suddenly one friend asked, Bro, can you tell at least 10 cricketers’ names? Anyone… Indian or outside India? I said, Dhoni, Kohli, Sachin… And then my mind went completely blank. The whole group started laughing... Arre yaar, you don’t even know 10 cricketers name? Hahahah

Truth is, I never watched TV. I was that typical maths-and-science topper type, very quiet, very decent, and honestly… a little sensitive. If someone commented on me, it hurt more than I showed. That day actually stung.. Fast forward 4–5 months… IPL started. I randomly downloaded a fantasy team app and made a team. Not sure how, but I started getting profits every single day. Slowly, my friends noticed that my teams were performing really well.

Then something switched inside me… I started doing more deep analysis of every match, every player, every possibility. Daily I was making 12–14 teams.

And guess what I did?

Every single day, I gave those teams to the same guy who laughed at me that morning. We made a deal, money was his, team was mine, and from the profit we’d split 50–50.

And then the real fun began…

We were partying almost every single night. We gave treats to all the guys who were on that breakfast table that day… In fact, to our whole close friend circle. Every night we went out of the campus, chilling, eating, celebrating with the money that was coming from the same cricket analysis they once laughed at.

Those nights? Was Legendary.

What started as a small insult turned into one of the funniest, most satisfying success stories of my life.

This happened 7–8 years ago. But I still smile whenever I think about it.
