off topic but mandatory age verification checks on social media varying by country are a recipe for disaster[RANT]
It's totally unfair imo because not only is it abusing human rights, but if you're a person like me, my country is implementing an age verification law. And the worst part is? My government is not gonna implement a facial estimation option, but only asking us to use government IDs??
WTF!?!? I literally got banned, and I tried appealing my ban with my government ID, but it got disabled. I'm so worried rn because all the efforts I've tried to bypass a ban, whether it's getting a new device, using a new VPN, a new phone number, or no data-linked credentials, have all been thrown into the sewer. And now with Meta having my government ID credentials, when I'm trying to verify using my ID, I'm def gonna be banned right on the spot.
Now ik that most of you guys won't deem it seriously, or you all will just be asking me to use a VPN to bypass it, but I have another problem. My government is also planning to ban VPN's and enforce a more robust implementation. Not to mention the fact that my school documents and my personal classmates' chat are all on WhatsApp and Instagram... Ig this is the end for me on all meta platforms... I can already sense the screen of death(suspended appeal page) when I'm using my government ID to verify my age.
PS off topic, but this might be the first case of an age verification being tied to a ban.
