Today 10 years ago Poppy was killed and replaced

Today 10 years ago was a sad day for like 100 people which is why I can't say the decisions were bad but I still look back with disdain. The Post might be all over the place but it's written from the heart.

I quit league around 3560 days ago, you might realize this is a few days after poppys rework (leap years exist). Well I tried playing her new form but I realized Riot took Poppy behind a barn and shot her and replaced her with another Yordle from the same football team.

New Poppy is fine but they should've released her as a new Champ and done something different with Poppy.

I only played Poppy she had the lowest pickrate by far back then. Urgot was the only champ which had less players but people picked him when they wanted to troll because everybody knew Urgot was bad Poppy was just forgotten.

I had 1 game of thousands where someone else picked Poppy I dodged that Queque. I dodged when my own team banned her which is a problem which still exists today as I hear, but I played her in every role even ADC.

Poppy was mainly a Toplaner, Laning was rough against Ranged Champs but the Melee Matchups werent nearly as bad as most people are led to believe. I was only Mid Diamond though and the higher you got the more you got punished in Lane. But Poppy was viable in every Role which is why she was the perfect Champ to Onetrick. No matter which role you played if the game got to Lategame you could carry hard Oneshotting ADCs and Mages all day before your Ult ran out.

Poppy needed change I get that. A few years before the rework a riot employee said if Poppy was ever seen in competetive she would be changed and then she was used as a counterpick for Mundo. Then the rework-video came it looked cool I was excited but playing her I realized:

Why is Q no AA-Reset The ult serves a way different purpose than the old one. The passive is weird but fine W is great but needs more MS, Poppy

They also introduced Champ Mastery shortly before the rework. I was excited to flex my insane Poppy score but the rework came shortly after. Heres to hoping there will be LoL Classic in a few years.

TLDR: Poppy rework was no rework but a new Champ was released and Poppy deleted. 10 years later I am still sad.
