3+ Player Split/Shared/Couch/Local Co-op Games You Shouldn’t Miss (PC & Console)

Written Review

Lately I've been hunting for games that support three or more players locally, since most couch co-op titles stop at two. Figured I’d share a curated list in case anyone else is searching for solid multiplayer options for groups, family nights, or weekend sessions.

Action / Brawlers

  • Castle Crashers (up to 4) – Still one of the best beat-em-ups for groups.
  • Streets of Rage 4 (up to 4 offline) – Tight combat and great style.
  • Gauntlet Slayer Edition (up to 4) – Fast dungeon runs, easy to pick up.

Shooter / Twin-Stick

  • Helldivers (up to 4) – Friendly fire chaos but extremely fun.
  • Assault Android Cactus+ (up to 4) – Great for short intense runs.
  • Call of Duty CODBO3 or older entries (up to 4 split-screen on some modes) – Depends on platform but still viable.

Platformers

  • Rayman Legends (up to 4) – Almost perfect for local multiplayer.
  • New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe (up to 4) – A classic group platformer.
  • Heave Ho (up to 4) – Simple mechanics, ridiculous moments.

Party / Minigame Collections

  • Overcooked 1 & 2 (up to 4) – Stressful but satisfying teamwork.
  • Moving Out 1 & 2 (up to 4) – Overcooked energy but for furniture.
  • Gang Beasts / Human Fall Flat (up to 4 local) – Fun physics chaos.
  • Ultimate Chicken Horse (up to 4 local) – Build levels to sabotage each other.

Racing

  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (up to 4) – The ultimate couch racing game.
  • Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled (up to 4) – Great alternative with tighter tracks.
  • Sonic Team Racing (up to 4) – Cooperative kart mechanics.

Sports / Arcade

  • NBA 2K (varies per version, usually 4 local) – Full team matchups.
  • FIFA / EA FC (local squads) – Solid local competition.
  • The Jackbox Party Pack games (many players with phones) – Great for groups that don’t want controllers.

Co-op Adventure / RPG-Light

  • Diablo 3 (up to 4 local on console) – One of the best multi-controller ARPGs.
  • Children of Morta (up to 4 with Family Trials) – Strong storytelling and combat.
  • Lego Games (many of them support 2, but some allow drop-in group play with creative controller setups depending on platform) – Very accessible.

Indie Gems

  • Unrailed (up to 4) – Build tracks while chaos unfolds.
  • Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime (up to 4) – Crew a ship together.
  • Trine series (up to 4 depending on version) – Gorgeous puzzle platforming.

If anyone has rare 3–4 player couch co-op gems (especially on PC) that aren’t already well known, feel free to add them. I’m always looking to expand the list for future sessions.
