F on my transcript from COVID

Venting

Hello all! I submitted most of my applications and explained my situation in most of them but I wanted to get everyone's consensus.

I got an F in my transcript during COVID when I tested positive on the day of my final exam and was barred from entering. This was one of those coding modules where your finals accounted for ~60-70% of your grades, so I was very unlucky with that. I was given an incomplete grade and told to redo the module in the following semester, but they changed that to an F grade when I could not make it to their rather last-minute retest in the middle of summer.

I retook the module as promised and received a passing grade, but my university refused to remove the F from my transcript. I am going into the arts and humanities for graduate school (completely unrelated to the failed course) and I was wondering if this will hurt my chances. This was peak lockdown period and my grades gradually climbed when things reopened. I even qualified for the dean's list on my last semester but couldn't be awarded the award because most of my courses taken were from the school of humanities and social sciences, and I was technically registered to another home faculty.

My GPA is 3.44/4, without the F it would be 3.54/4. My major GPA in the school of humanities and social sciences would have been around 3.9/4, including two credited courses I did in an Ivy League exchange.

I get that this is partially my fault, please be honest and tell me if this might hurt my chances.
