Stupid question: how do I make money quickly in this game?

This is definitely a stupid question from my side, but it is one, that is bugging me a lot... Everything in this game costs an excruciatingly big amount of money. I have laid eyes upon the Krait and really wanna get this ship, but 45 million? I am not good with ship fights, so I don't ever take any bounties, since I'd practically die instantly. The missions I like to do though - which are search and retrieval missions - only give 30k on average, which would make farming for the Krait a lifetime objective... So, how do I speed up this process and make money faster? Am I missing something? Or do I really have to get myself accustomed to ship fights, since that is basically the most efficient way? I'm also not part of a fleet, so those big haul missions fall short and I'm on PlayStation as of now, thinking about switching soon though...
