Going from Oled to IPS

Hi guys, I know this is not a thinkpad but since thinkpad users have modded their screens in the past, i was hoping to get some input. I have a lenovo legion 5 with a 40 pin edp connector OLED. But i really dislike this screen for work and would like to get an IPS. If i get a IPS panel that uses the same 40 pin edp connector, would the direct swap work? I read there are voltage differences even if both panels use the same edp protocol.
