How does FF8’s Eyes On Me sound to native English speakers?”

FF8 is a very divisive game in Japan, and I know it’s the same outside Japan as well. However, even people in Japan who dislike FF8 often say they love Eyes On Me. Many Japanese people don’t really understand the lyrics, but they still feel the song is beautiful.

Personally, after growing up and studying English, I finally understood the meaning of the lyrics that I couldn’t grasp as a kid, and it made me love the song even more.
