What makes me eligible to be “independent” according to Centrelink

I study full time and pay “rent” to my parents. I also work casually but make very little money. My parents would be considered over the income threshold so I would need to be considered independent in order to get a youth study allowance. Does working a casual job and paying for all my own activities and rent count towards me being independent in this case?
