Seeking guidance, thinking of taking concrete steps towards pursuing an MSL role

Hello everyone,

After years of deliberation i am ready to direct my focus towards achieving an MSL role.

I am an M.D. (general practitioner with close to a year of work experience in a regional ministry), currently working towards the completion of my PhD in sociology/anthropology. My research topics are related to mental health policies.

I really like the role of an MSL and I do see myself enjoying it in the long term as well. I also had an MSL from the U.S. explain it a bit more in detail compared to online sources, especially the day to day and future prospects of the job. I am almost certain that this is what I want to work towards.

I wanted to ask here what people would recommend as some ways to prepare for the application process and the role itself. I want to take some courses in medical affairs maybe (if anyone has a recommendation for a place to take it online perhaps, I would appreciate it). What things to look out for during the application process? I have been trying to read peoples experiences of application to see what questions are being asked and what not. What makes an applicant stand out? I never actually applied for a job so far, unless you would consider the PhD application a sort of a job application.

I have about a year to start applying. My biggest roadblock as of right now is a language barrier. I am situated in Poland but my polish level as of right now is B1 l, i gave myself around a year to reach B2 and start applying. I just want to make the most of my free time during this year to have better chances when I start the applications.

Any kind of guidance is welcome. Thank you.
