“You must log every bathroom break”? Sure thing, boss
So I work in a call center where management recently decided we were “wasting too much time away from our desks.” Their solution was to introduce a policy where we have to log every bathroom break in the internal tracker , exact time out, exact time in, and the “reason for visit.” Yes, they actually wrote that part. Naturally, everyone was furious but we were told “no exceptions.” So we complied. Every single person started logging *everything.* “2:17 PM , restroom, reason: urination.” “3:42 PM , restroom, reason: hydration-related consequence.” “4:05 PM , restroom, reason: existence.” After one day, the daily report was thirty pages long. IT had to make a separate folder just for “bathroom data.” HR got involved because apparently the system wasn’t meant to store “medical information.” Next morning, the policy was gone. Manager said we “misunderstood the spirit” of the rule. Nope, we understood it perfectly.
