Any tips for new player?

Just installed this gem yesterday and havent slept for most of the night lmao. Multiplayer is wild, especially on huge subs with 16 men.

Need a few tips though. I chose engineer as my role and it seems that literally everyone can do my job. Security guys, medic - all are running around and repairing and fixing stuff. So what do i do as engi? I also cant understand how the hell am i supposed to work with screwdriver. These cables and in/out sockets are like alien language to me. Where can i learn this?

I also think i got some weird hallicunation or something cause i was seeing fires and water everywhere but no one gave a damn. As if i was only one seeing it. I also think my character couldnt speak, cause my voice chat was inaudible to others, though before it worked fine.

Any other tips would be welcome too!
