I submitted my DS-160 on 3 November and paid the visa fee on 4 November. On the same day, I got lucky and booked my biometric appointment for 30 November and my visa interview date for 5 December.

The interview process itself was quite smooth and took around two hours end-to-end. My recommendation is to reach the New Delhi consulate on time, not excessively early – they will not allow you in before your slot, and arriving even 10 minutes before your scheduled time is perfectly fine.

During the interview, the officer asked why I wanted to travel to the United States. I explained my purpose, and since he could not catch the complete explanation the first time, he confirmed by asking if it was for internal company strategic meetings, to which I said yes.

He then asked which places I would be visiting, and I described my travel plan.

After that, he asked about my salary. Once I answered, he said my visa was approved.

My interview was on Friday, 5 December. By Monday, the online status had changed to “Issued,” and by Tuesday.
