Our housing manager is trying to stick us with a bill for damages from another tenant
We live in Bakersfield California in a housing company owned by Clemmer & Company Real Estate and right now they're trying to evict us or at least the housing manager. Because in the past 4 months our upstairs neighbor's toilet flooded and caused damages to our apartment my my girlfriend reported it gave all the information and evidence about it and the housing authority send people to pretty much put a fan to dry up our carpet then a week later they issue us with the bill for it when it wasn't our fault at all we text and have the text saved to the property manager about this issue and about the balance put on our account and she said she'll take care of it she's been lagging on it ever since and when we brought it up to her about it asking if we could talk to payroll or whoever has control of billing to fix it ourselves she told us no no don't do that she'll take care of it and as being naive believed it not here we are that balance has always been on our account and because it shows an unpaid balance it continued to add 150 for late fees and this housing manager has been waiting and chosen till midnight when she got nobody will be home to post the notice so I'm asking you all I read it if you have any advice I'm doing my part looking it up and seeing about legal help but it'll be appreciated if anyone might have some insight that can help us greatly
