Huge Polizei and Kontrolleure presence at U Mierendorffplatz

About half the platform was taken up with police and ticket checkers today. I've not seen that combination in such an amount before. Is there a particular reason? Training day? Is it something that happens regularly at various stations, and I've just not come across it?
