A worried mother . Please had anyone ever dealt with applying for citizenship for their children then changing their mind ?

My question is simple as is : I applied for myself and my kids , with the new law of coming about the military, my husband doesn’t want our children who are 15 to get the German citizenship. The application is in process, we have filled out everything, even made the payment. Will this affect me I still want the citizenship but wrote to them to cancel the children ? Is that even possible? It’s affecting me mentally and giving me severe anxiety to the point I can’t sleep . I don’t have a lawyer nor know where to turn to . Please if someone can chip in and give some advice it would be greatly appreciated.
