Is oskill resist fire bugged?

Hi, i'm playing a flamebellow dragon pally and i should have 85 max fire res, but when i give a djinn to the merc and the resist fire kicks in my max res goes down to 75... Is this inteded or is it a bug? Is there a way to avoid it? Ty in advance.
