Community activities in Newcastle

Hey guys, im a student with nothing better to do in the holidays, I was just wondering if there's any websites to look for public events or maybe you guys could tell me if there's some community events such as fundraisers or sports I can sign up to, it'll be a massive help to either build up my resume for uni's or just give back to the community overall.

I'd love to hear back from any of you guys, thanks.
