Is there anything I should be aware of when buying headphones for an oncology patient?

(I’m not sure which flair this falls under) Hello, this year for Christmas my husband and I are taking part in an initiative to provide presents for children and youths from the oncology ward. We have been assigned to buy a gift for a teenage boy (16-18 yo). I’m thinking of buying bluetooth headphones and so Im wondering if there is any reason for which a headset might be better than earbuds, or the other way around, or perhaps there’s no difference at all.

I have no information about the particular person the gift might go to, only the age and gender. I suppose it will be up to the nurses to pick which present will work best for each individual person.
