What should i do now?

Hi folks,
I’m a 23M working as a backend engineer in a product company. My dad has been suffering from Parkinson’s for the last ~8 years, and things have gotten worse recently. We’re planning for a DBS surgery at SVIMS, Tirupati.

We’re a middle-class family, and the surgery costs are way beyond what we can afford. The only help we found is through the AP government’s CMRF scheme — but the process is long and requires running between CM offices, sachivalayams, etc. It easily takes 3–4 days.

Here’s the problem:
I barely have leaves. Only 5 left for the entire year, and I’m saving those specifically for the surgery time. I’m stuck thinking how to manage all this.

On top of that, I’m in a pretty toxic team at work, and I genuinely have no idea how to handle both responsibilities — being a son and being in corporate. At 23, it already feels overwhelming. Sometimes it feels like I’m stuck or locked in this system with no room for personal emergencies.

How do IT folks manage family responsibilities in situations like this? Is it really supposed to be this hard? Any advice, suggestions, or even emotional support would mean a lot.

Thanks for reading.
