What could cause SolidWorks to do this?

Simulation

This happens every time I run my static load study (reference image below):

  1. SolidWorks freezes while showing "Generating contacts..." in the bottom left corner for a good 15 minutes. Eventually it un-freezes and simulation runs (somewhat) normally

  2. If I create a new contact set after the study is finished, the ID-number increment is in the thousands, indicating that it's generating (then deleting?) some 1085 contacts by itself on every run (It's not always the exact same number).

It is a fairly complex assembly, with 46 bolts, 17 pins, and a load of parts. My model is fully constrained by the contact sets shown in the image, and I do not get any errors on free bodies anywhere.

I tried switching solvers, same behavior.

I later found interference in my model (which I was oddly not notified of when running the study), but even after resolving all interference, the same described behavior is occurring.

Has this happened with anyone before? Is this indicative of anything specific or just random SolidWorks errors? Using 2019 SP0.0
