Why do new fragrances feel “wrong” at first and then suddenly become your whole personality later?
I swear my nose has commitment issues. Every time I grab something new, my first reaction is basically, “why did I do this to myself?” It happened again with Greenley by Parfums de Marly. The first few days, it felt sharp, almost too clean, like my nose didn’t know where to place it. But then randomly it just clicked, like my brain suddenly filed the scent under comfort. I started noticing the little green sparkle, the soft sweetness underneath, and how insanely refreshing it felt in heat. Now I reach for it without thinking. It’s wild how your nose rewires itself once the expectation fades and the scent becomes familiar instead of new. Do you think it’s just scent fatigue resetting, or do some fragrances genuinely need “time” to make sense?
