Anyone Else Struggling with Unspoken Social Rules of Graduate School?

my Autism side

Hidden Currriurclm of Graduate School

Anyone have this experience or something similar? I'm so heartbroken and I'm just so tired of failing socially everyday.

I'm attending the same university I did as an undergraduate a few years ago. The university hasn't changed much in terms of staff but I'm having a terrible time because the faculty expect me to just "know" the department politics and be dependent upon them. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong that makes them so hostile towards me.

Even me just shutting up and keeping my head down, they're still fixated on me and everything I do in class. I have one professor, my program director, I'm seriously considering filing a harassment complaint about because he repeatedly tried to corner me physically in class and stole information from my presentation slides (literally copied and pasted into his own!) but I know it's pointless. I'll just be labeled "difficult".

I can't seem to form relationships at all anymore. Not even with my peers but faculty specifically. It was hard when I was an undergraduate but now it's impossible and I'm just scared to spend the rest of my life failing like this. The most offensive part is how they push and push for me to do original independent investigation studies under them while they spend the class time either refusing to be cordial to me if not outright trying to intimidate me.

Whats the point of a master's program that you can't be independent as a student, have your own opinion based on your career knowledge and experiences, or just question things?
