Is it zoning out?
Hi!! Sorry if this is dumb and if this is legit just what zoning out is, but i figured better safe than sorry, y'know haha. I've also already posted this on r/ Askdocs, but I figured that this might be more a psychiatry thing. Sorry if not!
Im 15 years old, AFAB, 5'7, 58kg give or take (been a while since i last weighed myself), white. I have this thing where my vision goes blurry, and my neck stiffens and i kind of, like, stop thinking? To be clear im still concious and very aware of when it happens (mos of the times. It has happened where i only realised after, but to be clear: im still awake and aware), its just that if im, for example, writing something, i'll stop, and my thought will just moreso be "Oh, now its happening again". I cant really snap out of it even if i want/try to, which is what leads me to think that it isnt just zoning out, since to me that implies that its because youre bored/disinterested, and your mind starts to wander, which this isnt. i usually last like maybe 10-30 seconds, but ive had it for longer (like a few minutes) at that at times. it happens maybe in general twice a day, with some days not at all (my memory aint that good, so maybe it does happen everyday lol), and some days it happening like five times. Its not usually that big of a deal except for it being annoying/uncomfortable, since it passes after not too long, but there was once where i had to go over the street, and it happened where it scared me a little.
Basically, how it goes is. 1. eyes blur/head gets fuzzy 2. necks stiffens (I cant really unblur my eyes or snap out of it here, but i usually start to realise its happening here) 3. I can unblur my eyes, but my head is still fuzzy 4. my head starts to become clear again. I also didn't know where to fit this in, but i also feel this weird sort of... pressure? I think? around my temples (sometimes also back of head and my forehead) and my eyes feel a little weird. It doesnt hurt at all, just feels weird.
I cant remember when it started, but i would say at least a year. I'm diagnosed autistic, and my whole family has suspected ADHD+OCD. I take melatonin for sleep, and quetiapin (very small dose. I have been tested and am not schizophrenic, I take ir fo past SH). Because of some stuff I dont know specific doses, but I do know that they arent very high. No idea if it helps, but i take one pill of each an hour before i sleep. I live in a province town with me and a bunch of old people in it, so I neither drink, smoke or take drugs haha. I live in Denmark.
Again, sorry if this is very normal or something, also i apoligise for any grammar/spelling mistakes, like i said im not a native english speaker + im new to reddit, and anxious about posting for people to see haha :)
Thanks if you read!
