mind palaces

A few days ago, someone in the comments of a post I made recommended that if I wanted to start getting into astral travel and the like, I should first research astral palaces. I've looked for videos on YouTube about them, but I haven't found anything specifically about astral palaces, although I did find some about... I'm not sure if mind palaces are the same thing, but I'm curious because, from what I've seen, many people use this technique, which sounds wonderful. From what I understand, it's a space that we create ourselves, and you also have to put protections and beings there to protect it. To be honest, I find this fascinating, and I want to create my own.

If anyone knows about these things, could you please instruct me?

I should add that I'll create my mind palace later since it's 3 am and I don't like doing this kind of thing at 3 am because supposedly it's the hour of the spirits and all that.
