Is it part of the session?
Recently I've been seeking therapy to help myself in certain departments where I saw no growth, no development, no change. It's been quite some time since I sought a therapist, really, so I suppose my expectations were rather low and brushed off any sort of questionable behaviour. However, for a few sessions now, my therapist simply asks me to draw, just draw. "Draw what you feel." "Let loose and draw what first comes to mind." At first I wasn't against it, considering that I shared with them my passion for art, so I merely thought it was a way for us to bond and make me comfortable. More so I understood that speaking with me was a chore, considering how difficult it is for me to speak without feeling guilty of doing so. But for a few sessions now, I begun growing a bit tired of the same routine. Come in, sit down, be handed a notebook, draw what I feel, sit in silence. It may sound childish but by no means I am ever confrontational, thus me speaking up would be out of the question. I wanted to just know if this is normal and I should be patient to see where it leads. Perhaps it's a method to have me speak up for myself? To voice out my disagreement with the current state of things and make a step forward? Or is it something else entirely? Or I'm simply being a grown baby for questioning the professional. Thank you for the time you took to read this. Have a great time ahead.
