Painful/Itchy Tonsils for over 2 months

hi i, 23F, have been dealing with itchy/painful tonsils for over 2 months. the pain started around october 1st with pain just radiating in my lymph nodes. i thought i could just ignore it and it would go away on its own. during this time i noticed some minor tonsil stones that i could dislodge on my own.

about 3 weeks later my tonsils had some minor white patches and i was prescribed antibiotics by my primary care. these didnt really do much and after a week they blew up red and were quite painful.

i went to urgent care and they gave me steroids and antibiotics as a precaution if my strep came back negative.

the steroids seem to help and the strep culture came back negative. however i continued taking the antibiotics.

things seemed fine until another week after that my throat became very itchy with white stringy patches on it. these were scrapable and would come off.

i thought it was oral thrush so urgent care gave me oral nystatin gargle. this seemed to help but not fully get rid of it.

now for the last 2 weeks i’ve been hoping it would go away on its own as it hasn’t been painful, just itchy.

two days ago my right tonsil started hurting. i should also note my right tonsil has been swollen this whole time and hasn’t wavered with the size.

i’m waking up this morning with now my left side also hurting and red. my inner ears feel really itchy. i just don’t know what to do or what it is because i ultimately feel dismissed by my primary care when i go back.

(in good news tho im getting my tonsils out in 2 months)
