I did not expect this to work but here we are
Mommit I need your thoughts on a weird trend happening in my mom group chat. People keep talking about this TikTok Slash Free where some moms say they get items for free. Normally I ignore stuff like that because it reminds me of the toothpaste coupon situation last year.
But then one of the moms actually posted a video of herself unboxing a baby food maker she got for zero dollars. Real video in her real kitchen. So I got curious and tried it once just to see if anything would happen. I picked a silicone placemat because if it ended up being nothing I would not care.
I had to ask my sister and a mom friend to help and the whole thing felt clunky but weirdly addictive in a just one more tap kind of way. Yesterday I got a shipping notification and now I am confused. Part of me is impressed and part of me is wondering whether we are just helping a company run a huge engagement experiment.
Has anyone else seen this or tried it Does it feel like a harmless mom hack for baby gear or does it feel a little manipulative
