Do real Cockney gangsters still exist, or were the wool-coat, nan-loving hardmen just a product of Guy Ritchie films and British folklore?

I’ve always wondered how much of that image is real and how much is pure movie myth. You know the stereotype: the old-school London hardman who wears a long wool coat, speaks fluent Cockney, is terrifying on the street but melts whenever his nan needs something. Do people like that still exist in modern London crime circles, or has the whole scene changed with newer generations, different cultures, and organised gangs being less “local”? Not glamorising anything, just genuinely curious how much of that old-school identity survived in the modern age.
