Advice needed on a Fluance RT82 setup

I'm on a budget (need to keep it under $1000 CAD), live in Ontario (N2H 0B8 postal code) and want speakers that will match the quality of the Fluance RT82. I was leaning passive, and strongly considered the ELAC Debut 2.0's, but that would leave almost nothing for the Amp and Preamp. I'd love to get it closer to $700, and would consider different speakers and setup (including actives speakers) if I would still be doing the RT82 justice, and not losing too much in terms of sounds quality.

I would love to hear the setups that some of you would build around an RT82 at difference price points. I also don't have a stand for the TT or speakers, so am interested in that stuff as well.
