Daily 100 km commute | Power petrol bills skyrocketing | Confused between Hyryder vs. Grand Vitara Strong Hybrid

#Discussion đź’¬

Hi everyone,

I travel about 100 km every day from Gurgaon to Noida, six days a week, in a 2021 Kia Seltos petrol. I usually fill power petrol, and as you can imagine, the fuel expenses have become painful lately.

So, I’m planning to exchange the Seltos for a strong-hybrid SUV to reduce running costs. I have shortlisted: • Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder – G variant (Strong Hybrid) • Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara – Zeta+ (Strong Hybrid)

On paper, both are mechanically the same. Hyryder G is slightly more expensive, but the Toyota badge and hybrid experience were tempting enough for me to lean that way initially.

However, my experience so far has been… underwhelming. • Toyota dealers are extremely slow. No proper follow-ups, delayed responses, almost as if they don’t care about selling the vehicle. • Maruti dealers, on the other hand, have been very proactive. They’ve been following up regularly and are already offering decent deals.

I’ve owned Maruti cars earlier, and I genuinely wanted to switch to Toyota this time for the hybrid tech reputation and perceived reliability. But this lukewarm attitude from Toyota is making me rethink whether the premium pricing is even justified.

Has anyone here faced similar dealership experiences between these two brands? Is it still worth pushing for the Hyryder G Hybrid despite the initial red flags, or should I just go ahead with the Grand Vitara Zeta+ given the better value and responsive Nexa dealers?

Any suggestions or insights—especially from strong hybrid owners—would be really helpful. From planning a ₹20 lakh upgrade to navigating this dealership circus, the whole thing feels more confusing than it should be.

Thanks in advance!
