Can I continue adding shims to Baratza Encore ESP [grinder issue]

My Encore ESP that I bought used last year needed shimming earlier this year. I ordered extra shims and added both which helped. But now I’m suspecting that it needs shimming again, as I continuously need to be at the very lowest setting (1-3 clicks) to get a flowrate over 20 seconds for a 18-19 gram shot. Long story short, I’m just wondering if there should be anything stopping me from adding more shims? I’m not really sure why it would need it already, but I’m saving up to replace the machine anyway so this is just a temporary solution
