DLC compatibility with mod

I want to experience this mod so bad but I first have to buy the game for PC because I only have it on the PS5.
When i purchase the game, do I need to purchase the Shadow of the Erd Tree DLC as well for the mod to fully work? Or would i only have access to the modded base game & be missing out on the extended content? THANKS!
