Heading to Arrowhead for the Chiefs vs Chargers game? Parking guide & tips

Figured i'd share some parking advice for the chiefs chargers game on the 14th since it can be a real headache if you don't plan ahead. hope this helps some people out.

honestly the easiest thing i've found is using an app called prked. you can rent someones driveway or private spot right next to arrowhead stadium. its usually way cheaper than the official lots and you get to park in a reserved spot super close to the stadium. the best part is skipping a lot of the insane traffic getting into the main lots. you just park and take a short walk over.

if you're going the official route, you HAVE to buy your parking pass online before you go. they dont take cash at the gates anymore and you'll get turned away. general parking is called red parking and it's around $50. gold and platinum are closer and cost more but red is fine if you get there early.

the lots open 4 and a half hours before kickoff, so for a 12:00 pm game thats 7:30 am. you really need to get there early, i'd say at least 3 hours before the game, otherwise you risk getting stuck in a grass lot or just being miles away. traffic gets crazy on I-70 and 435 close to game time.

when you get there, the lots fill up from the stadium outwards, so early birds get the better spots. a good tip i learned is to try and enter gate 6 and park in lot a. it's a red lot but puts you in a decent spot and makes leaving a little easier. lots c and g are great for tailgating if you want that classic arrowhead experience. just remember you only get the one spot and about 8 feet behind your car for your setup.

getting out is the worst part. plan on waiting in your car for a while, could be up to an hour if it's a close game. sometimes parking farther away from the stadium in the outer lots actually lets you get out quicker.

if you're using uber or lyft, the drop off and pickup is at the missouri welcome center near gate 1. be ready for some serious surge pricing after the game though.
