So growing up, I always liked slasher villains. I grew up on horror. I was never really a superhero guy. I only had a few exceptions. Like ninja turtles. Or word girl (you a real one if you know who that is). I don't know why I just felt like superheroes were overrated too mainstream. But recently i've come to a realization.

Superheroes and slashers are almost cut from the same cloth. They both get power scaled by power scalers for all the insane feats they pull off. I mean, look at the stuff Jason Voorhees has done in the comics. They have similar powers, Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers both have regen like the wolverine. A lot of them have super strength. Teleportation. Or some other quirky power. Carrie doesn't exactly count as a slasher but She has telepathy like superheroes do. Not only that, but not all heroes have powers like Batman. He's just a very smart guy in a suit who is very well trained and has a lot of money for tech. And slashers are no different. We have ghostface, who is just a human. We also have Norman Bates and Simon from the ugly.

So are slashers and superheroes even any different? The movie bright burn was supposed to be what if a superhero was actually evil But that was already a thing they're called slasher. So is jason voorhees the superman? Is ghostface batman? Who's spider man? There's probably not a 1 to 1 comparison for all of them but it's something interesting to think about.

Are slashers just evil superheroes?
