(AMA, NLUD 2017) Do's and Don't's for AILET

MOTIVATION 😤

Hey everyone, with AILET just days away, let's cut through the noise. If you are panicking and thinking you need to learn 20 new things this week, you're wrong.

The most important message: Your preparation is 95% complete. The foundation you built over the last few months and your intelligence are what will matter. This final week is purely about maintenance, mental clarity, and precision.

🛑 AILET Final Week: DON'Ts (Stop doing this now)

  1. Stop Trying to Learn New Content: Do not pick up any new GK topics or complex Logical Reasoning question types you haven't seen before. Your brain will struggle to absorb it, and it will only cause anxiety. Stick to what you know.
  2. Don't Over-Mock: Taking more than one mock every two days is counterproductive right now. Your focus must shift from speed to accuracy and analysis. Spend more time reviewing the questions you got wrong than taking another full-length test.
  3. Don't Panic over CLAT: Seriously, delete the memory of CLAT. I know that's easier said than done, but try? AILET is a different test, usually with a greater emphasis on deep Logical Reasoning and English Language. Your prior CLAT score has zero bearing on the AILET result.
  4. Don't Mess With Your Sleep Cycle: AILET is typically an afternoon exam. Practice waking up, eating, and taking your final mocks/revisions at the time you will be writing the actual paper. Don't be groggy when the paper starts.

✅ AILET Final Week: DO's (Consolidate and Execute)

  1. Do Focus on High-Weightage Sections (LR & English): These sections are your bread and butter. Spend time re-doing LR questions you previously marked/struggled with. Practice high-accuracy reading for RC passages and focus on concepts like inferences, assumptions, and logical fallacies.
  2. Do Quick-Scan Your GK Notes: This is maintenance. Rapidly re-read your existing Current Affairs (CA) and Static GK notes. The goal is to keep the information "warm" in your short-term memory, not to learn a lot of new stuff.
  3. Do Drill Deductive Reasoning: Take stock of your CR and AR preparation. Legal may also be asked, but don't stress yourself about it. It'll only be asked as part of logical reasoning. So, the CLAT-like Legal Knowledge nonsense is unlikely af to happen here.
  4. Do Treat Your Body Well: Eat light, stay hydrated, and get 7-8 hours of sleep every night. Mental clarity is your biggest edge this week. Internalize that the work is done, and this week is your victory lap of calm revision.

You are prepared. Trust your notes and your preparation. CLAT has given you an experience of what exam-setting looks like; your AILET performance will only improve as a result.
