Garmin and Water

Hi all , I want to know if any of you are having problems with water and your garmin. I own a vivoactive 4 and 5. The 4 had to be replaced after swimming on the beach and the 5 touchscreen is not being very responsive after a swimming class in the pool. Is this a problem of the vivoactive series? Waterproof is a key feature and I’m a bit disappointed. I wanted to know if anyone else is having the same problem.
