Sheridan Animation Portfolio — How many hours per day should I realistically work? Any advice from current students?

Academics

Hey everyone!
I’m currently preparing my Sheridan Animation portfolio for the upcoming cycle, and I’m trying to build a realistic daily schedule without burning out.

For those of you who are current students or recently accepted, I’d love to ask:

1) On average, how many hours per day did you work on your portfolio?

  • Was it 2–3 hours?
  • 4–6 hours?
  • Or more during the last month?

2) Which section took you the longest?

  • Observational drawings
  • Character design
  • Storyboarding
  • Perspective drawings
  • Sketchbook
  • Animation test

3) What would you say is the most important thing Sheridan looks for?

  • Clean construction?
  • Strong gesture?
  • Clear storytelling?
  • Appealing shapes?

4) If you could restart your portfolio, what would you do differently?

Any honest advice would genuinely help.
I'm working every day but I want to make sure I’m focusing on the right things and keeping a healthy pace.
Thanks in advance — seriously appreciate any guidance you can share! 🙏
