Finding a gym advice

Heading over to thailand for 3 months from aus starting march next year. Im tempted to pick a gym online and secure 3 months of accomodation.. Is this a silly way to go about it? Im worried about missing out on good accomodation deals that some gyms provide if i wait last minute. Will it be easy to secure cheap accomodation no matter what?
