Colts vs Seahawks parking at Lumen Field?? a guide for dec 14
hey everyone, with the colts game coming up this sunday i figured i'd share some parking advice for anyone heading to lumen field. it can be a real mess down there so hopefully this helps someone out.
honestly the best thing i've found recently is an app called prked. people who live right around lumen field rent out their driveways and garages for the game. it's way cheaper than the official lots and you can get a spot just a few blocks away for a short walk. the best part is you totally skip the insane traffic jam getting into the big garages since you're usually on a side street. i used it last month and it was super easy.
if you're going the traditional route, just know that the official lumen field parking garage and the north lot are pretty much all sold out to season ticket holders, so dont even count on parking there. the next best options are the mariners garage right next door at t-mobile park or the union station garage. they're close but they fill up fast and can be pretty expensive, probably 40 bucks or more. there are a bunch of other private lots around pioneer square or south of the stadium if you're willing to walk 10-15 minutes you can usually find something a bit cheaper.
street parking is honestly a nightmare on game day, i wouldn't even try it. BUT a little insider tip for a sunday game is that parking meters in most of seattle are free on sundays. if you get there really early and are willing to walk a good 15-20 mins, you might find a free spot in the international district. just read every single sign to make sure you dont get towed.
the best way to avoid the headache completely is to not drive to the stadium at all. just park for free at one of the link light rail stations like northgate or angle lake and take the train in. get off at the international district/chinatown stop and it's a super easy walk to the stadium. this is especially great for getting home after the game and avoiding all the traffic.
no matter what you do, get there early. the whole sodo area gets crazy gridlocked an hour or two before kickoff.
anyway, should be a great game. hope this helps! go hawks
