Should I utilize government assistance to leave a toxic living situation?

Hey all, I am in my early 20’s and right now I’m living in a toxic household situation. I’m a student full time for about another year and working part time. I hate the idea of having to rely on any government help and truthfully never even considered it until recently. Living here for any longer is tanking my productivity levels and mental health. I can’t really move in with a friend or anything but I want a way out, even just for a year. The problem is I’m not making enough especially for the high cost of living state I am in, and the limited hours I work. I do qualify for state assistance I just can’t get myself to do it. I want to earn my way out and rely on myself. But it would help me a lot just to be able to focus on getting into my career or a better job faster. I’m torn. Thoughts ?
