[TOMT] Title: [Song] — early-2000s rock, starts with a movie quote (“Tell the boys, it’s time to shoot the moon”?)

Pending

Hi everyone — I’m trying to find a song I vaguely remember from a late-’90s / early-2000s rock/metal playlist (similar to Powerman 5000 or Godsmack). I’m really fuzzy on the details, so I’m hoping someone here might recognize it from what I can recall.

What I remember

  • I think the track started with an old-movie style quote (maybe a Western/“campfire” or “old saloon” vibe) — the voice said something like: “Tell the boys, it’s time to shoot the moon.”
  • After that quote, the song kicked in — possibly with a strong rock/metal riff and vocals (maybe female, but I’m not sure).
  • I clearly remember in my head a chant or lyric sounding like: “SHooooot the moooooon!” — though that might be me misremembering / amalgamating things.
  • I know it wasn’t “Moonbaby” by Godsmack.
  • The album art (at least in my memory) had a blue-ish cover (like mostly blue tones).
  • There’s a hazy memory that it might have been a local Denver band, maybe with a guitarist named “Travis” — but that could be entirely incorrect.

What I’m uncertain about / what might be wrong

  • The possible female vocals are a memory “flicker,” but I could be mis-remembering.
  • I don’t remember the name of the band or the exact lyrics beyond the vague “shoot the moon” line.
  • It might not have been widely popular (hence not obvious) — perhaps a lesser-known or local band.

What I’m looking for

  • Any songs from early 2000s rock/metal (or even alt/industrial/nu-metal) that open with a spoken-word movie-clip or “Western / campfire / saloon” style sample.
  • Songs with lyrics or themes about “shooting the moon,” or with “moon” in the lyric/chants.
  • Particularly interested if anyone knows lesser-known or regional bands that match this description, especially around Denver.

Thanks in advance for any leads — I really appreciate this community’s memory superpowers if it rings a bell for you!
