゛Personality ⸝⸝.ᐟ⋆ » Presenting herself as an individual who always has everything under control and always with a smile on her face, Alice’s true emotions are hard to find, locked behind the mask of a performer who has learnt to smile through the pain and push through the distress. So long as the people around her are satisfied and at peace, she is happy too. At least that’s what she tells everyone. In reality, she is deeply insecure about herself and her worth, for her parents chalked up the worth of her (and her siblings) to their capabilities to perform show stopping acts and rake in the cash. She ignores her own limits and strives to keep everyone else happy even when it hurts her. Though when it truly comes down to the wire, she can also be seen as a coward, fleeing from confrontation and danger without a second thought for anyone else caught in the crossfire.

゛Lore ⸝⸝.ᐟ⋆ » Alice is the second oldest of five children, all raised to become performers in her parents’ travelling circus, The Twilight Troupe. From the age of 4, she was set to be the one at the centre of the aerial acts, training with hoops, silks, the tightrope and various other equipment. By 14, she was known more by her stage name (The Starlit Angel) more than her real name.

Growing up, her performances equated her worth. Mediocrity was regarded as a sin and harsh punishments were dealt out for sloppy practices or mistakes during shows, often including but not limited to withheld meals, gruelling hours without sleep spent practicing instead or being made to sleep outside in the freezing winter nights. As she grew older, this mentality became deeply engrained within her and shaped the way that Alice saw herself and this view on who she was became almost dangerous with how obsessive she became about perfection.

Tragedy struck when she was 20. During another performance that should have been routine by now, Alice’s trapeze act was cut short by a poorly secured bar. During a flip, when she was supposed to catch herself, the metal bar that was supposed to be securely attached to the ropes came loose and slipped from the bindings, causing Alice to fall from a height of 25 feet in the air. Miraculously, she survived without a major spine injury however her left leg was broken in multiple places that never fully healed properly and regularly flared with pain agonising enough to immobilise her and even cause her to collapse from the sudden sharpness if she were standing. Even after being released and allowed to perform again, her performances were never the same and due to gossip and rumours, the incident was never forgotten. Over the course of only a few months, The Starlit Angel was dead and had been replaced by The Bloodied Dove, something that cut deep into Alice and became a source of humiliation for her family and the troupe’s reputation. Unable to remain at the standard her parents expected, she was eventually disowned and abandoned near an old, desolate town that she would soon learn was known as Oakhurst.

She became a vampire after being found by Pyro in the aftermath of an attack on the castle with Cleo and Martyn. Having tried to flee in the face of not the expected singular vampire (Scott), but four, her leg chose the worst moment to give out. Slowed down by the pain and still in a blind panic, she didn’t realise she’d been pushed over the edge of the bridge until she was falling. Everything after that was a blurry haze until she came to again in the castle.

Turned by Pyro, who at the time at least still had humanity within him, she was saved by being turned into a creature of the night, settling into her new life with surprising ease once she realised the transformation had effectively cancelled out the lingering pain and muscle/bone issues that she’d suffered with the past few years. Despite being very close to Pyro and considering Shelby and Drift to be good friends, she also viewed Apo, Abolish and the rest of the town as friends and ultimately chose to neutral during the fight between the humans and vampires of Oakhurst and was relieved when a truce was finally put into place, even if just for the sake of allowing everyone to escape Oakhurst.

Now, she lives off of animal blood, refusing to drink from the humans she comes across. She has since left Oakhurst to return to the bustling Big City life she thrives in, though regularly returns to Oakhurst to visit the graves of those who died, Pyro’s in particular due to their history. She never returned to the circus life, choosing to settle down in NYC and works as a choreographer and teacher for a famous dance company.
