TTRPG Prop Advice for Call of Cthulhu??

Questions + Help

Disclaimer: I have never owned a blaster before... Or been in this subreddit before... If this isn't the best place to post this please tell me where would be?

LOOKING FOR: Suggestions to use as props for TTRPG set in 1920. Feel free to Google the Call of Cthulhu weapons list or click the link.

Accuracy or distance doesn't matter. Reloading or firing speed doesn't matter. At most we'll be playfully firing at each other across the table. I'm looking for:

  1. Vibes!!! (something I can paint or otherwise cheaply modify to be at least semi Call of Cthulhu friendly. Something we can pretend remotely resembles one of the weapons on the available weapon list)
  2. Cheap, preferably. I will 100% be skipping meals to afford these but the joy on everyone's faces is 100% worth. Don't hate. I'm am adult and can prioritize whatever I want.
  3. Durability over power/accuracy/distance.
  4. Bonus points if the mag/revolver/whatever holds the amount of darts the "real" (based on CoC rules) equivalent holds. I can make them use their blaster as an inventory tracker! Muahaaha!

CONTEXT: I'm a DM for a dungeons and dragons group, going on eight years now. We're going to start playing Call of Cthulhu shortly. My group LOVES props. We wear real low quality / minimalist costumes at the table, etc. And CoC is our first time playing with weapons as modern as "blasters". I know they'd go nuts if I pulled out a nerf blaster for each of them for our first session but... I'm so lost 😭😭😭😭 Someone please help this poor noob.
