How do you feel about teaching the new hires, both with a higher position (leadership position), in the roles that you coveted or was vying for

Work Environment

Here I go again with the ~feelings.

I'm an associate in a private company. An associate has the lowest rank in a team, at least that's the organizational scheme within our company.

These past 4 months I double-hatted for two roles: data analyst and then business ventures associate.

For those two different roles they opened up two officer-rank positions. My work friends were expecting that I get offered at least one of them. They were thinking that at least it's my time to get promoted since I hadn't been given one in the past two years of my employment. In the end, the company hired two new persons for these roles, one from inside (for the data analyst officer) and another from outside (for the business ventures officer).

I found myself happiness despite missing the opportunity to advance my career and salary. I was in fact excited because it means I'll get to learn new things and get some new mentors.

But no... oh gosh. I had to teach them. I mean... for the data analyst position... it's just weird that the person isn't familiar with programming or coding. I mean... basic troubleshooting, the principles of coding. And the business ventures analyst... he had to ask me for strategies and my usual tools. :(

Just a bit sad. Why do I feel it's unfair? I'm sorry, but, you're in the higher position eh... mas mataas sahod mo... so why ask from me??? Sige, turuan ko kayong dalawa, pero pahingi ng 30% ng sahod nyo ah. Ayaw ko mag-baby ng taong mas mataas ang position sa 'kin. :(

Btw, my skills were not granted to me by this company. I have only been here for two years. My technical skills were honed outside nung younger years ko through trainings (some I even paid for) and experience (previous projects).

Nakakalungkot lang.
