Parking for the Hall of Honor Dinner at Acrisure Stadium? my guide
figured i'd share some advice for parking at the hall of honor dinner this weekend. honestly getting in and out of the north shore for any event at acrisure stadium can be a nightmare if you don't have a plan.
my best advice is to check out an app called Prked. people who live super close to Acrisure Stadium rent out their driveways and garages for events. it's usually way cheaper than the official lots and the best part is you can find a spot just a short walk away. this lets you skip the insane traffic jams right at the stadium lots when you're trying to get in and out. i’ve done this and it makes leaving after so much faster.
if you want to go the traditional route, the official stadium lots are convenient but you should pre-book online because they can sell out. the champions garage is right there but remember there's no tailgating inside. also all those north shore lots are cashless now so bring a credit or debit card. traffic is seriously no joke, they say Acrisure is one of the worst stadiums for it, so plan on getting there really early, maybe two hours before the dinner starts. the police change the traffic patterns on event days, so follow the signs and maybe use waze for directions.
a really popular move is to park downtown and take the T over to the stadium. the ride is free from the downtown stations to the north shore and it saves you the headache of driving right up to the stadium. parking at a garage like the First Ave Garage is a good option. another classic pittsburgh thing to do is park at station square and take the gateway clipper ferry across the river. it's a cool view and you totally avoid the road traffic.
some people try to find street parking in the neighborhoods around the stadium but i wouldn't risk it. most of it is permit only and they are very quick to ticket and tow during events. you might find some private lots on western avenue but expect to pay a bit and have a 10-15 minute walk. just be careful about scammers trying to sell you spots in lots they don't own.
no matter what you pick, just have a plan before you go. getting out of the lots after can take forever.
hope this helps everyone going to the dinner, should be a great night
