Firstly the philosophy of art without sight. This is purely to give mechanisms for sexual expression without using sight, in the Fukuin's teaching of lowering the gaze. We are not here to discuss what counts as art, as that is meaningless for the subreddit, I can't change the subreddit name so this is something you have to stick with. This means AI, and also the construction of tools (which isn't art in itself) can be used, if it serves the agenda.

This means to create tools to use reprieve sexual repression. The process of making these tools may require sight, but as long as you're sexually sober while doing so, it shouldn't matter.

By taking a trace of a previous drawing, and punching braille on the lines, one can make an artwork that one can touch and figure out the outline of without using sight.

One thing I have noticed is that the spacing between the dots is important. When dots are clumped up the page doesn't have enough material to create strong tactile dots that one can feel easily. It is also the case that differing pressure can create differently strong dots, which can be used to highlight or thicken certain details.

It is also the case that not everything needs to be expressed if this is just to relieve yourself. Only certain erogenous zones need to be dotted. There can also be the flow of the waistline, and perhaps the eyes, nose, mouth and chin for good measure.

There is also the issues of the outline being still visible which results in sight being used if the outline seen is arousing. I have brainstormed some ideas to prevent this.

1. Using a thin cloth to cover up the paper. The dots are pokey enough to touch even if there is a cloth in between the finger and the paper.

2. Turning off the lights, or being in a dark area.

I have thought about folding the paper, so only the face is seen. But this seems to contradict the issue of using sight for arousal. The face is an inherently attractive aspect of any person.

Here is an example of a braille art I made, it doesn't follow the findings that I have mentioned in this post. This is not the same pin art, because of how tactile the projections (the dots) are.

Findings with braille art.
