Parking for the Steelers vs Dolphins game on Dec 15th? here's a guide
figured i'd share some parking advice for the steelers dolphins game since the north shore can be a total mess on game days. hopefully this helps someone out.
honestly the easiest thing ive found is an app called prked. you can rent someones private driveway or garage right next to acrisure stadium. its usually way cheaper than the official lots and you get a reserved spot so you can just park and walk over. the best part is skipping the insane traffic jam after the game when all the main lots are trying to empty out at once.
if you dont do that, the official stadium lots are an option but they are expensive and mostly pre-sold. if you have a pass for one of these, you have to get there hours early. tailgating is great in these lots but getting out after the game takes forever.
a really popular strategy is to park downtown in one of the garages in the golden triangle. it can be pretty cheap and then you just take the T, our light rail, over to the stadium for free. the ride from downtown to the north shore is in the free fare zone so it costs nothing. plus the walk over the bridge with all the other fans is a cool experience.
another classic pittsburgh thing to do is park at station square and take the gateway clipper shuttle boat over to the game. the boat ride is fun and drops you right at the stadium, but be prepared for a really long line to get back on the boat after the game unless you leave a little early. i think it costs about 15 bucks for the round trip.
there are other cash lots on the north shore, like over by the casino or on beaver ave, but they fill up fast and can be pretty expensive. you could also park for free at one of the T stations in the south hills and take the train all the way in, which is probably the cheapest option. just be warned that the train gets super packed, and you might have to wait for a couple to pass by before you can squeeze on.
no matter what you do, get there early. the roads around the stadium get seriously jammed. arriving at least a couple of hours before kickoff will make things way less stressful.
hope this helps and go steelers
