Bosch series 6 dishwasher always contains water, never dries out

We got a Bosch series 6 dishwasher in 2024. The food filter well always contains water after a washing cycle ends, and there is too much in there to evaporate. The dishwasher always starts to smell the day after it has been run. It's awkward to access the well/depression for the filter to empty the water.

Is this filter well SUPPOSED to drain after a washing or machine clean cycle? Because it never does.
